Mus 212 Class Percussion I

Course Description:

Prerequisite: LAC student with T1A orT1LT course or GER student

Students will learn the basic performance techniques and concepts inclusive of snare drum, timpani, keyboard, and a variety of accessory instrumens (cymbals, tambourine, triangle, etc.). The class will allow students interested in instrumental studies to broaden their knowledge of the field beyond their individual instrument and interest.

Reflection/Assessment:

This class was a fulfillment of a tier. At first I struggled with percussion due to my lack of rhythm, but the professor was very helpful and soon enough I was able to keep up with the rest of the class. The best part about this class was the concert at the end, because it put me out of my comfort zone and in front of a semi large crowd. This class affirmed that I do not have any sort of stage fright.

Final Grade: B
