This advanced course in presentation graphics, techniques, and theory is designed to provide the student with the skills and theory needed for creating individual and group presentations.
This class was originally taken for two reasons. The first was that it finished off my communication minor. The second reason was to improve my presentation and public speaking skills for future business meetings where I may be trying to convince sales that a manuscript is worth publishing. Over the course of this class I did about six presentations. These presentations included introductory speeches, impromptu presentations, informative presentations, persuasive presentations, and group presentations. The subjects I chose to cover included my eportfolio, my father as my hero, greyhounds, breed specific legislation, and the American red cross. I found that I enjoyed researching topics that interested me for a change and that getting up in front of the class got easier every time. I also learned ways to avoid rushing in my speech and other helpful hints for presentations.
