The 276 Designing for the Stage

Course Description:

Explores the fundamental principles and techniques of design theatre, particularly scenic and costume design, through hands-on approach.

Reflection/Assessment:

I took this course because it covered a tier for me and I had done costuming in high school. This meant that I went into the class feeling like I already knew something and that I had an interest in. I enjoyed the activities and learning about lighting and set construction. I also enjoyed the different projects we did which included but were not limited to collages, 3D models, and drawings. We also got to watch as the set construction of the stage for the play for that semester progressed. I found that while I liked the class and enjoyed the activities, I did not feel as though I would be using the skills later in life.

Final Grade: A-
